Central Suriname Nature Reserve
The Central Suriname Nature Reserve (CSNR) TEAM site began in 2005 and is managed by Conservation International Suriname, the Anton de Kom University of Suriname, and its affiliated institution, the Center for Agricultural Research in Suriname (CELOS). The CSNR, a United Nations Natural Heritage Site since 2000, is a 16,000 sq. km. or 1.6 million hectare tract of pristine forest in the heart of one of the world's most forested countries (more than 90 percent forest coverage).
